2nd was Stagg Newman, 3rd was Connie Walker (best conditioned), 4th was
Paul Kendall, 5th was Kathy Downs (on Casey), 6th - 10th I'm not sure who
did what - I have to wait for my pictures to get back! But I know that
Norma House was in there somewhere - 11th was someone on a Connemara
stallion, and 12th was Jane Graffam
50-milers: 1st from Maryland (and best conditioned), 2nd was ?, 3rd was
Sharon Akerstrom, 4th was Maryland, 5th-7th were the Batts (mother and
daughters), 8th was Sue Corr, 9-10th ?, 11th was Patty Andrews Moore.
12th ?
Well, there's lots more to tell - all kinds of exciting things were
happening. I rode with Ruth Bither and Jane Graffam - Ruth and I were
rookie riders, and neither one of us made it (she was pulled 8 miles
after me for diminshed gut sounds and CRI) - we also had a horse go
through a windshield of a minivan (got away from the camp ground at 4:30
Sunday morning and ran down the Rojek's driveway - that was Ruth Bither's
horse Odie - he got stove up, and had to have stitches in the stifle,
hock, and groin area - but that was after we found him, 2.5 hours later,
3 miles from the Rojek's farm) - never a dull moment -
