NY100

Got in about 10:30 last night from the NY100 (3 day) and although
this is an endurance group, thought I'd pass along the details.

This ride is based out of the Brookfield fairgrounds in NY state. Great trails,
some road work with narrow shoulders to get from one section to another.
Some nice
mindless dirt roads and fantastic water crews who made sure you got lots of
water
on your horse. There was no rest for the weary, you had to work for each
mile and
no time to goof off. It was hotter than normal and the humidity was up
there so,
any extra time was spent cooling out in a stream.

Just over half of the 60 starters finished. Lameness and metabolics were to
blame.

This ride has the feeling of a big family gathering. A large group comes
down from
Canada each year, and there is a great feeling of friendship and support.
They have
people who volunteer year after year who use their vacations and don't have
close
friends or family competing.

Anyway on to the details.

Sue Greenall was grand champion
Brenda Senseney was reserve
Dinah Rojek won her division and high point Arab

I actually wrote down the results at the awards ceremony if anyone needs
more details.

My mare, Tink finished 9 th in our division, only our second attempt at a
3 day hundred. She trotted away from me into the field with her buddies last
night in good shape and perhaps a little humbled from the experience.
