What I've done is for the very rare once in a blue moon type hauling I'll
do it for gas or for free. When it's something that happens more regularly
like you describe I charge the same as any commercial hauler. A hitch up
fee and mileage. Every horse gets charged the same. For example Since I
only have a 2 horse trailer I can only carry one additional horse. Local
haulers generally charge $25 to come out and from $0.50 to $0.75 per mile.
I do the same. Probably why I rarely end up hauling other people's horses.

I'd suggest you decide on something and write it all down and everyone sign
it. Nasty but true that such things can split up friendships.
