tie up?

Does anyone have any info on CPK levels during competition?
Went to the NJ100 (3 day) this weekend. Day one 40 miles normal
P&R's. Day two into the hold at 20 miles, trotting on macadam
you could hear she was uneven, but just looked short. Pulled her
and got a ride back to camp. In the stall she urinated, it was very
dark. Pulled blood, and had my vet run it today when I got home.
CPK 2036 kindey analysis was normal. Is this an elevated number for
a horse doing that kind of work, if it is pulled within 2 hours?
I was using my heart monitor and all seemed normal, P&R's were great.

She urinated again about an hour later and it looked normal. She was
in season (she always is at rides) and had become very distressed when
everyone else left the hold. She has a tendancy to become short up front
when she is getting tired, and is not accustomed to sand (we live in the
northern part of the state). She does appear to have a bruised heal on
her left front which could explain why she was short/off.

My vet does not have any research on performance animals to know what kind
of numbers are normal. I am going to run the CPK again on Wednesday and
see if it had gone down. Any input would be appreciated.
