Seems like so many on the list have been singing the praises of biothane
tack that I guess I should give it a try. I'd appreciate recommendations
of mail-order sources, or a pointer to a FAQ if such exists. Thanks!
(I have to admit that as much as I like quality leather tack, the thought
of cleaning tack with a hose has a certain appeal...)

While I hate not to promote Calif businesses, I have to make note
that the HIgher Mark in Florida has the lowest prices on Biothane I
have seen yet and the quality is excellent. You also do not pay
Calif. sales tax if ordering from Calif. I would only reccomend
them becuase I have spent mega bucks at Sportack and Australian
Connection on items other than Biothane!
