hello,

I use a biothane hunt style collar made by Teddy Lancaster. I use this
collar no matter what, it is simply part of my gear. I even use it on my
english saddle when I jump.

The main reason I started using the collar was because I ride in a
McClellan saddle and the collar keeps the girth from sliding too far back
without having to strangle him with the girth. I don't have any trouble
with it for two reasons;

1) The rings where the collar attaches are very moveable and give when his
shoulder comes forward or his head goes down to eat or drink. Not all
endurance saddles have this kind of give.

2) When I am at stops and he is grazing for long periods of time, I unclip
one side of the collar and thats the leg he puts in front while eating.

Just my opinion. We've been using the breastcollar for 9 years now and
have never had a single rub...
