[RC] Terpentine for hooves - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

Anybody out there use Venice Terpentine to toughen your horse's soles?  I 
happen to have some and is seemed like this might be a good time considering 
their feet are being soaked in muddy water about 16 hours a day. 

The stuff gets awfully thick when it's cold so I felt like I wasted a lot the 
first couple of times I used it (and it's expensive!) Today I brought it in and 
sat the can in some hot water to warm up (yes I know it's very flamable). 
Figured I'd paint a little on before I turn them out to slide around on the 
hill for a while. Feet are at their driest right now but wonder if it would be 
better to put it on at the beginning of their time inside or the end?  How 
often?
