RE: [RC] Food/eating at rides - paulI am blessed with a healthy appetite that holds up n the heat or cold, and no matter how tired I get. I pretty much get to do a sea food diet. I see food and eat it (oops sorry. Were you going to finish that?) It seems 100's make me less picky than normal. I do try to control where the food comes from as lactose intolerance is no fun on trail :-) At the OD, I was eating an MRI type self heating meal of 3 cheese lasagna at the 75 miles mark. At Tevis they have vendors at Foresthill. One of the vendors made grilled sandwiches. They had a roast beef/philly type sandwich that was hot and greasy.. With fries or chips (can't remember). I went back and got a second one.. yummm. Later on there was a bunch of people feed at one of the vet checks. I had some cookies and maybe there was cake there too??? I was kinda delerious at the time, so may not be correct about the cake. I do avoid soda pop, it gives me a caffine buzz then a crash, I try to alternate water with gatorade. Also carry power type bars, nuts, corn chips, pretzels, and a sandwich. If the vet checks are in camp, We cook a lot the night before and I eat leftovers at the holds. Grilled lamb, teriyaki marinated chicken (also grilled) fried chicken (Churches is my favorite for this) pasta, rice, spinach, brocolli, cauliflower. Dang this is making me hungry.. I'm gonna make a snack. Paul N. Sidio Spokane MO =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
