[RC] Mike Sherrell's Top Trail Tips Mike Sherrell/scary things - Nancy Reed

I am with Lisa on this too.  I had an almost incident this morning.  The ranch below me always has something going on, so Jazzi is always on alert when we go through the area.  On the way home a new stand of about 20 really clean, white filled sand bags had appeared next to the trail.  They were not present when we went out. Jazzi saw it from 30 feet away and let me know it was going to eat us.  If the dogs had gone up to the sand bags I think she would have been less upset, but they were busy elsewhere. (sidebar, my dogs are wonderful for diffusing potential trail explosions.)  The minute I got off Jazzi she calmed down and let me touch the bags.  She smelled my hands, started licking and chewing and we were fine, no more issue.  Because she has perfected her rollback/spin, I always get off now, it is so much easier to remount as a un-broken rider than a broken one!
