RE: [RC] Silage and Cows - Maryben Stover

Skip takes our icky hay for his cows.  But BBQ (the cow we have at our place) would sooner die.  She deigns to eat oat hay because that is what we feed but if you have a handful of alfalfa, she comes running.  Actually, she will come if you call her anyway.  She is getting really stiff and slow but we are pretty sure she is approaching 20 or so.  None of us knew a cow could live that long but then most of them are not pets and are gotten rid of when they stop having babies.  You can even rider her.  She lets you sit on her but she won't let you steer (pun intended).
