RE: [RC] beet pulp - Jessica Raines

A pound is a pound, right? How can a pound of pellets end up yielding more than a pound of shreds?  Add a half-gallon of water to each, soak overnight and you still have a pound of beet pulp and a half-gallon of water.

Yes 1 lb of any type of pulp whether shred or pellets combined with ½ gallon of water will yield the same amount however what is being said is the pellets are more concentrated hence you can add more water to the pound of pellets and they will expand more than shred will. Basically its not about weight it’s about their capacity to expand more than the shred.
