Re: [RC] International Specialized saddle Proplem - Lori BertolucciMy buckles are down near the stirrup. It isn't the buckle causing the problem, just the leathers pushing against my shins. I would love to switch over to western fenders, but most western style saddles hurt my knees. That is why I like riding an English style saddle. Mine are low on the stirrup leather, about 2 to 3" above where they go around the stirrup. I'd guess with some riders that buckle is higher, and more against their leg, causing more bulk maybe. I have never had an issue with mine rubbing or pinching against my leg / shin. I have heard of a few changing to regular English leathers, letting them float, not in any one position. You can spin a regular English leather so the buckle is down near the stirrup, not up under your thigh. Jonni Lori Bertolucci wrote: > Jonni, I took the screws out and have mine"floating". But I had the problem even when I had the screws in place. I had the stirrups set in the mid position. I felt comfortable in the saddle, the only reason I took out the screws is so my leathers were easier to work with and if I needed to adjust my stirrup length, I could pull the buckle down if need be. > I will get some covers for my leathers and see if that helps. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > ** >
