[RC] downside - those orange boots - Dream Weaver - Kevin Myers

Karen,

You’ve hit the nail on the head here. Without proper fit, experimentation and training on how to use the boots, riders lose boots. If the boots don’t fit properly or they are poorly applied, they won’t stay on.

The good news is that with the right fit and the right application the boots are very reliable. And it’s not complicated.

I’m more interested in communicating again and again and again the best way to fit/apply rather than pointing fingers at boot failure or shortcomings by brand. User training and education is vital to a successful user experience.

A poorly informed user is a short term user, and so, in all likelihood, are those around them.

Kevin Myers (very much at the beginning of the user experience)

I think it's pretty safe to say that riders who use boots will have one (or more) come off from time to time. I have seen or been at rides where just about everybody riding in every brand of boot at one time or another has lost one. This is why riders try barefoot then go back to shoeing.
