I had my 16x6 stok trailer modified for horses like this:  raised the roof 1 
foot (to keep rather stupid, high headed appendix mare from braining herself 
everytime she got in.)  3 removeable slant gates installed.

I usually leave the forward most gate in place, the gate runs from the start 
of the straight part on the left to just behind the pig gate on the right.

The end most gate is slanted to the far right hand corner at the back, and 
the mid gate is directly between.

This makes for 2 very wide trailer stalls.  Good for hauling two horses.  I 
take out the last two gates and haul 3-4 tied to the left side.  Take out 
the first gate and let the first horse stand backwards and haul 5 horses 
tied on the left.
