shoeing angles

Title: shoeing angles

Okay, horse has the high heel, long toe  thingy going.  We started off shimming the low a la Moses Gonzalez on the low heel side to bring his chest musculature level, but we were able to stop shimming after about a ½ a year and he’s still level in the chest and shoulders.  Yeah!

I’ve been through a few farriers since I’ve moved, and have had the same farrier for about a ½ a year now.  I’ve noticed that although the fronts are getting more closer to the proverbial 55 degree angles in the front and start looking alike. This farrier seems to be leaving a lot more toe on that I like, and Beau was starting to forge.  I asked him for more breakover, and he rolled the toes slightly on the shoe, but now Beau is forging worse and still seems to have delayed breakover in the fronts.

Comments?
