[RC] [Guest] Endurance horses' letter to Santa - Ridecamp Guest

    Naomi Preston mustanglady@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Dear Santa

Now that your busy night is over, we endurance horses wanted to send you our
wish list. They're not exactly things you can bring us, but maybe you can
let our owners know what we need!

    In 2003, we wish for:

-Owners that really listen to us, at home, on the trail, and especially at
    the competitions we love.

-Owners that put our needs first, before their egos.

-Owners that realize that we love what we do, and sometimes we will go too
fast/too long/too hard. Sometimes we need our owners to be our "brains"
    when we lose ours.

-Owners that make sure we're really prepared before they take us to a
    competition.

-Owners that let us stop at EVERY water opportunity on the trail.

-Owners that take the best care of all our needs.........from our hooves
(barefoot or shod), to our teeth, to our veterinary care, to our nutrition,
    to our turnout/stabling.

-Owners that realize we are not "machines", but living, breathing animals
    that need their stewardship.

-Owners that are open to new ideas on how to take better care of us.

-And finally, owners that remember to give us treats once in
awhile.........like carrots or apples or maybe just saying "job well done!".

    Thanks Santa.
