    I just went thru some LD ride results,  only those where I know most of the
    people
      I counted those I knew who were riders that ride often.  If I didn't know
    them, I counted as "new", may or may not be right.  In the 13 rides I
    counted, of 242 total riders, there were 42 that are, or may be, new comers.
    Of those known to me, some only do LD, but most go back and forth between
    Endurance and LD.
    In this area it is pretty clear LDs are not really "training" rides for
    most.   Maybe for the horse.
