Yep--more socialization at home and more homework before you bring him to a
ride. Vicks wears off, and is no substitute for good manners. Take him to
events where you have his WHOLE attention ALL of the time, and he has to
WORK in the presence of strange horses. Bring a really dominant strange
horse home and house him/her directly across a good, safe fence from your
stallion--one that will come at him with ears back and make him wish he were
dead every time he comes up to the fence. Put him out with some really
dominant pregnant mares that will inform him that strange horses are no fun
to be around at all. (But do this in a large area with plenty of
space--he'll need it.) He has to LEARN that the world and every strange
horse in it is not his for the taking. If you can't get this point across
to him by yourself, other horses certainly can. But please, please, please
work through this before you bring him to a ride.

    Heidi
