I totally understand and agree that we need uniformity, but the other side
is a problem too. There is currently no uniform actual ride time for a
distance.
I have managed quite a few rides and worked for a lot more. On shorter
rides, hold times can make a difference to the pace put upon the
competitors, this is contrary to the principal that the ride times were
established on.
It is not an easy problem to solve, but I feel it is an issue worthy of
discussion.
