Re: [RC] Mustangs - Bonnie Davis

I've been to MANY wild horse 'facilities', 'adoptions', round-ups,
'sanctuaries', ridden by bands on desert rides and had 'em come into my camp
when horsecamping -- the Ramhorn BLM camp north of Susanville off 395 is
completely fenced to keep wild horses OUT.

Anyway, long story short and one solution that a lot of BLM management feel
is the "only solution to maintaining bands" is to shoot all males.
Everything male from foals, to yearlings to stallions. Get rid of all male
horses for one year. The following year's foal crop would be on the ground
to start rebreeding in another year. A two-year span basically of no new
breeding. Mare bands will reform, regroup thus eliminating inbreeding.

But the public would be out hanging anyone who suggested that.....
