[RC] foul weather gear - Charles

All this talk about riding in the rain got me thinking. What foul weather
gear do you have? And, what brands or items do you recommend? If you found
something, then why not let the rest of us know.

For Thermal Underwear, I recommend a Swedish brand called Ulfrotte. To
    check it out:

    The US merchant is: http://www.gransfors.com/htm_eng/ull.html.

I got several a few years ago. As some of you know, I'm a pretty big guy.
I got frustrated finding thermal underwear that would work for me. Most of
the ski supply catalogs (REI, Hot Chili's, Patagonia, etc) only carried up
to a 2x if I was lucky. Unfortunately, I needed bigger. I eventually got
Ulfrotte underwear (I got the light and medium weights). I recommend them
    wholeheartedly.

    1) Even when wet, I'm still warm.
    2) They fit. They are made for work and don't slip down or slip up in the
    back.
    3) They don't smell no matter how long you wear them, and you can wash them
    in the washer.
    4) They are warm, warm, warm, but not overwarm. I can ski on a day where
it's 5 at the base and still be warm at the top. I can ski on a spring
    afternoon, and I don't overheat.

The service at Gransfors was great. They shipped the stuff to me right
away, and I got it in time for a Christmas Ski trip to Killington (ask
skiers about the coldest mountain in the east).
