Am I missing something here, or just having a blonde day and not understanding (wouldn't be the first time <G>). Are there a lot of rides out there in other regions that don't have LDs along with the longer distances?

I think I did 1100 to 1300 miles out of 1700 this year at rides that did not offer a LD distance. There are lots of rides out there, 50's, 100's and multidays that offer only 50 and up. For lots of different reasons, logistics of trail, etc. Obviously, ride managers are able to put on a significant number of rides without the LD riders having to "subsidize" them. Fort Schellbourne alone last year had 475 ride starts in one week. all 50's.

There are lots of new multidays coming up it seems like. There are 2 new 5-day rides in the NW region alone. Another new one in the West region, etc. I haven't looked at the calendar recently but it seems everytime I do there is something new on it!

Of course, that doesn't mean that there is any sort of shortage of rides that do offer the shorter distances. There are lots of those at one day rides and multidays too.
