[RC] Hay test results - Help needed interpreting - Sue Riegel Williams

I just got the results back on some 1st cutting, irrigated pasture mix grass hay and need help understanding the results. Test was done by the forage testing lab in Klamath Falls.

    Moisture - 20.92%;  Dry Matter - 79.08%;  Crude protein - 12.10%;  ADF - 31.00%

    TDN - 54.22 100% DM (tri-state method);  TDN 53.18  90%DM (Calif method)

    Digestible Protein - 9.92%;  Estimated Net energy - 437 KCal/Lb

My horses appear to be doing VERY well on this forage.  Is it too high/low in protein; is moisture too high; what effect does ADF have on the horse?

    Sue
