Re: [RC] water tanks and safety - RDCARRIE

Good point about having the ballast down low in the event of an accident (or near accident). We have a gooseneck trailer, and to carry water for the horses, we carry a big white water tank in the back of our truck. It holds 65 gallons and has a spigot on one end - we bought it at Tractor Supply. We run a hose from the tank out the back of the truck, and it works great. Nice thing about having the water tank in the truck is that on longer trips we can unhook the truck and drive somewhere to get more water. To make sure the tank doesn't slide back toward the gooseneck hookup, we put the tank against the truck cab, then lay a landscape timber across the truck bed in front of the wheel wells.
