[RC] New rider needs help - Found1Farm

Well, I'm not a new rider, but I'm doing my first 25 miler on Saturday, and guess what?  I don't know the rules!  I'm sure people on this list can help me out.
Is there any equipment/tack not allowed?  Any bits (I'm using a myler ported barrel kimberwick) not allowed?  Are protective leg boots allowed?

I've been riding my horse about 10 miles a day, 15 today, trying to get me in shape too.  At the vet checks between loops, do you go to the vet immediately upon completing a loop?  Or can you cool out first?  Do you take tack off and hose down, or not?  How long before they send you out on the second loop?  (Hey, I did say I was new at this, didn't I?)  I've done carriage driving and CDE's mostly the last 10 years, but this ride is practically  in our own back yard, so I'm up for my first 25 miler.  Any advice would be appreciated.

I also noticed this horse (a 6 year old Morgan gelding) does not go for water like my mare did, he comes home and goes for the hay.  I doubt he will even drink on the ride at all.  I also doubt he will pee between loops too.

    Thanks,
    Debbie
