    Hi Laura and All -

I live about 25 miles south of Buffalo, NY. The kids are boarded another 18
miles southeast-ish of me. The tack store (you're familiar w/ Stagecoach
West, Laura? I only live 5 miles away!$) sells muck bucket-sized heated
water buckets. I want a couple of these soo bad. However, I am terribly
afraid of the risk of fire, I'm even afraid to put in a frost-free cabinet,
and I would certainly love a 'fridge, too.

There is a frost-free hydrant right outside the main door (faces west). The
water always comes out at 55 degrees (I check it thrughout the year), and
the kids get fed four times daily, so there really isn't an issue with
frozen water, other than a skim of surface ice, other than maybe twice
during the winter or so. But, I will sometimes bring a five gallon jug off
hot water from home when I go to the barn, and I, too, add apple juice to
    it.
