I don't know if they could ride or not, but my two favorite movie scenes
are:
"Mame" where Lucille Ball gets caught in a lie and has to go foxhunting
sidesaddle. The horse runs away with her, she gets dumped over a fence and
lands on the fox! I'm sure it was a stunt double, but she looked lovely in a
habit.
"Tombstone" where Dana Delaney is out riding sidesaddle and one of the main
characters (I forget) runs across her and they race. I'm pretty sure that
was a stunt double and that it was a man!
Now I want to drag my sidesaddle out of mothballs and ride like I used
to........hellbent for leather.
