    Thank you, Laura.  Despite your claims to the contrary, that was eloquently written.  I know that I'm much more attentive to my horse's little nuances when we're alone on the trail.  And, he is focused on me and what I'm asking of him.
     
    [Glad to hear I'm not the only one -- I thought perhaps I was just more easily distracted than other riders.]
     
    And there's another benefit to riding alone a lot of the time -- the horse is not going to freak out if his buddy gets pulled during a ride.
