[RC] vacuums & fall colors (what a combo!) - Kathie Ford

Hey, I have fall colors too!  In the foothills of the sierras!  Gosh, went riding yesterday with my oldest daughter (home from college-miss her so!) and it was beautiful!  We have trails in our neighborhood and I took her to the canyon by the river.  Tall pine with black oaks that had turned orange, red (last year just yellow), and yes the blue oaks (which I usually don't care for) are even colorful this year.  The liquid ambers are so pretty especially the "festival" types, and the cottenless cotton woods flicker and flutter with the soft breezes!  The sky was clear and sooooo blue!  WOW!  I told my daughter we are so lucky to "ride" by and enjoy this scenery!  Just had to say "I saw the colors too!"  lol.lol..

Now for vacuums, (did I spell that right?  Never can spell that darn word!!)  I have asked for a horse vacuum for 2 year now (yes, for christmas).  Sadly, no vacuum.  So the other day I couldn't stand it.  I read all this stuff on ride camp about vacuums!  Well, I took my good ole' hoover upright windtunnel type, with an extra long hose out to the horses.  Lets see, which victim shall I pick?  Who won't panic?  Well, I picked my big mare Spirit.  She loves to be clipped so I figured she might be okay!

She really did love it.  I was a little concerned about the noise.  But she didn't mind.  Guess I picked the right horse.  The others were hanging their heads over the fence watching her at the rancho beauty parlor!  The whole event almost put her to sleep!  Weird horse I have!  Scared of baby horseys, loves the vacuum?  Go figure! lol...

I'm going to ask again this year for a vacuum!  lol...by the way you all have mentioned shop vacuums?  Aren't they too noisy?  $35.00 bucks is a pretty good price.  These horsey vac's are expensive!  Might be why I haven't gotten one?  (yep, probably! lol)

Anyway, I would consider one.  But I really do want to know how noisy they are.  My ears ring after I clean the car.  Don't want to make my horses ears ring-even if she doesn't mind the noise.

Any suggestions would be very nice!

    thanks, kathie
