Hi all,
I'm a little behind on the mail but for what it's
worth here's my story.
This past summer a good friend traveled to several
rides with my husband and I. If we took 3 horses (our 2 and the
friend's) our friend kicked in 1/3 for gas. If we took 2 horses (mine
and the friend's), she kicked in 1/2 for gas. Our friend eats like a bird
so I didn't ask her to pay for food (although she always offered). In
return, she did dishes (I hate dishes). She was happy not to cook and I
was happy not to do dishes. We shared all the horse chores. My
husband crewed for us when he wasn't riding. Our friend is an excellent
horseman and very easy to travel with. The only problem we encountered
over the season was my horse and her horse don't like each other so we had to be
careful who we tied where. We had a good season and we're all still
friends.
