I always thought that it was the horse that would have a "dominant" side. But I am left handed, and Howard is right handed. Both of the horses that I ride prefer the left diagonal with me and the right diagonal with Howard. I never really realized that they used different diagonals with us until this subject came up here. Yesterday we went riding and every time I switched diagonals, War Cry changed gait to a canter. AND the trot was very uncomfortable for me too. Very interesting I think. Erica
