Re: [RC] Legend for humans - MarisR

There are two approved products for humans licensed in the US.
    1.  Hyalgan, by Sanofi Pharm.  contains sodium hyaluronate, 20mg/2 ml, usually given as wekly injections into the joint for 5 weeks, best studied for knee arthrtis
    2.  Synvisc, by Wyeth, contains 16 mg/2ml of hylan derivatives, given weekly for 3 weeks.
The Hyalgan is exactly the same active ingredient and amount as the Legend product by Bayer.  I do not know if the pH and preservatives are exactly the same, nor could I find out if Sanofi is related to Bayer in any way., so I don't know how safe it is to do what you are talking about.
Hope that helps.  You can also get hyaluronic acid products for oral use for humans and horses at www.kinetictech.com
