 When I try to I get

My old Bubba did that. He would be moving along at that big Morgan road trot
and if I changed diagonals, he would take one canter stride and put me back
where he was happy. Of course, being an old sidesaddle horse, he was
extremely one-sided.
As he's gotten older, and I ride him astride more, he's a little better.
When he's tired, though, he wants me only on the one diagonal.
Just kind of interesting....
