    That about sums up my reason for retiring Kahlil when I did.  He
    completed a 50 at age 24 with a quite respectable 7-hour riding time,
    and passed his vet checks with flying colors.  But he was sore the
    next couple of days.  He'd completed endurance rides in 18 ride
    seasons, and it would have been nice to get to an even 20 -- which he
    could have done -- but I felt he deserved a comfortable retirement
    after all he'd done for me.
    
    But it is amazing, isn't it, what some of these old fellows can do?
