Kahlil has essentially lost his teeth, and cannot eat hay or whole
grains. His diet is a combination of a pelleted horse feed made for
senior horses, beet pulp, and a little cubed alfalfa. The alfalfa
cubes are soaked and broken into the soaked beet pulp. The "senior"
is soaked as well. Sometimes put in a few small cut pieces of carrot
for a treat. He gets three meals a day, two with beet pulp and one
without. It's all the consistency of thick soup, and he loves it.

And, oh yeah, if we're late he sure lets us know!

BTW, he got to give a handicapped little girl a ride the other day.
He had a ball. He often looks a little dejected when I ride out on
Shanshra and not him. Sometimes I hop on bareback for a few minutes
after I get back so he doesn't feel left out.
