To reiterate: Jackson had not left the
property since prior to his last negative coggins test, and their other animals
tested clean..  that means an untested neighboring equine, who probably
doesn't travel (much?) or it would be tested, brought it in to him.

Remember that a carrier animal does *not*
have to appear sick to infect others.  I have fifteen equine on my place
and it is expensive to keep them all current...  checking records, I have
two that are 4-6 months out of date, and I already have an appointment to get
them current next week. -but compared to the *loss* of one life, it is well
worth it to keep everyone tested.

I don't know the law in other states, but
in Texas, you are required to have a current negative test on any animal that
has other equine within 200 yards - I'm not sure how it is worded, but if they
share a fence or have *any* contact with other equine, they need to be tested on
a regular basis.

This is cross posted because I want to get to as many as
  possible!!
PLEASE learn form our heartbreak..........YOU MUST DO YOUR
  COGGINS!!!!
We are digging a hole today to put my best
buddy in because someone living around us DOES NOT keep up coggins testing/

We know it was not brought in by one of our others because the
State and Federal people have tested all of them also and none of the others
are infected (YET) so since he has not left this hill in 2 years it had to be
  from someone else's animals/

IF your excuse NOT to test was yours don't travel,
Jackson wants you to know that does not matter, neither did
  he!!!!!
        PLEASE  Let Jackson have a
purpose.........BESURE you test and IT IS THE LAW that your neighbors do also,
IF you doubt they have call the state and ask them to check for you, they will
do that with out disclosing your name/ Check your state as for the distance
that equine has to be tested but I pray none of you ever have to go thru the
nightmare we are living now and the ONLY way to stop this is EVERYONE MUST
  KEEP THEIR ANIMALS COGGINS CURRENT!!!!!

I am attaching a photo on Jackson,
taken a short time ago, PLEASE take time to really look at it and realize a
VERY special donkey will DIE today just because someone didn't think the
  coggins test was important
