Re: [RC] The West Nile Thing, Part one - Truman Prevatt

When my vet came out for my second case. He told me that "no I wasn't snake bit to call him." He's seen over 100 cases in the past two years and he said this one was "classic." He wasn't even to going to draw blood, when I asked "isn't there some type of reporting requirement on this."

It's here folks. Vaccinate and watch your horses. This is not a philosophical statements. If you vaccinate you still have a significant chance of getting it anyway - although much milder.

The ordinary vets who are on the front line are not having it done.  Why? 1. They would have to treat anyway until the results get back. 2. Most treatment is supportive and would be done even if another cause is ultimately proven.  3. Vets don't like to make their customers pay more money than they have to.

The word here in the Midwest is to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate and then pray.  It is the only thing that seems to have a real chance of working.
