RE: [RC] Dixie Midnight No-Sweat vent pads - Mike Sofen

    Well, Karl,

You've tested many products. That means that you're not manufacturing them,
but testing raw products that are manufactured by other companies. Let's
face it, you could cover every horse's back in the world and it wouldn't be
much material for an industrial manufacturer, and this type of material is
very expensive to develop, relative to recouping development costs.

So, like most other small "manufacturers", you're buying someone else's
"raw" material and turning it into a specialty product. Nothing wrong with
    that.

If you do indeed manufacture the raw material, then you probably would have
described it in a bit more detail, instead of just saying over and over that
you're the only place it is made. If you do manufacture it, then you
probably deserve an award, because it sounds like a great product.

But by claiming you actually manufacture the raw material that is the basis
for your product, you're stretching my inclination to believe you, and if
you don't actually manufacture that raw material, then all of your talking
below is just useless blather, regardless of whether your finished product
    is good or not.

So how about some facts instead of marketing hype?

    Mike Sofen

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe 3M company is the "developer" of the
material Karl uses as his pad. It is called Nomad and is intended to be
used as outdoor carpeting but does work great as a saddle pad. I have one
of Karl's pad and then when I realized what it was, I was lucky enough to
know someone at 3M and bought a whole roll (enough for more than a dozen
pads) in the company store for a couple bucks!

Well, Miss Jan, since you asked...

Every so often this one pops up, and some folks who are trying to save a
buck (usually at the expense of their horses), start talking about the 3M
thing, or the Ralide thing, or the Ulti-pad thing, figgering there's
something "just as good" or less expensive than the Genuine, Original
    No-Sweat vent pad.

At the risk of sounding like some sort of broken record, it just ain't so,
    y'all.

Look here--there's a whole bunch of folks on here who know me. And they
KNOW that in my life, and in my business, there is ONLY one thing that comes
first, and that's the welfare of the horse.

Those folks, and now ALL of you, know that I've looked at, ridden, tested,
and messed with EVERY single type of material that's been made in order to
come up with the VERY best performing, MOST comfortable, and LONGEST-lasting
device to comfortably and safely rid the horse of heat from under his
saddle, AND to pretty much end y'all's having to wash your saddle pads. I've
looked at and tested stuff for years and still CONTINUE to do so today.

When I started, it took me TWO YEARS of testing--that's right--TWO YEARS--
and thousands, and thousands of dollars to be certain that the Genuine,
Original Dixie Midnight No-Sweat vent pad would provide the level of service
     >I< wanted, and would be worthy of the Dixie Midnight Guarantee.

Here it is: Your Genuine, Original Dixie Midnight No-Sweat vent pad is
GUARANTEED to keep your horse's back cooler, and your saddle pad(s) clean
and dry no matter how hard you ride, for as long as you own it, or your
    money back.

    NObody tops that!

Now...I DO make the No-Sweats right down here in good ol' Florida, but, and
quite honestly, if for some reason you feel that there's something better
out there, and are willing to take a chance on your horse's back with
something untested, unproven, not made specifically for equines, and NOT
guaranteed--with NO recourse, then, by all means--please--go buy it.

I KNOW what all that other stuff is, how it works, and what you can expect
from it. If you're a REAL endurance rider, and spend the hours and miles on
horseback, then you will know instantly why I make the No-Sweat vent pad the
    way I make it.

If you're a casual rider, it should take you about 18-24 months to figure it
out. And THEN you can go find another knock-off to buy--if you can--and
wind up spending three times as much over a 2-3 year period, when you
could've had a No-Sweat right off the bat, and spared your horse the raw,
bleeding back, or the white hairs, and the nice sharp "pricklies" from a
knock-off which loses its softness in a while.

After all--it's YOUR horse, isn't it?

This ain't the first one to come down the pike with the "answer", and I'm
sure it won't be the last, but...when all's said and done, you didn't get a
Genuine Original Dixie Midnight No-Sweat vent pad off some industrial roll,
    did you?

Know why? Because they're only made in ONE place, and that's right here:
    http://www.dixiemidnight.nv.switchboard.com

No-Sweats are only sold in a VERY few places, because I DEMAND folks who
handle 'em to RIDE 'em, to be helpful, caring, and KNOWLEDGEABLE about what
the No-Sweat's customers need, and to be expert in helping them to use the
very best. That sorta limits the field. But...they ARE the very best.

Gots questions? Ask away, I answer 'em all! Either on here, or by private
    e-mail at dixiemidnight@xxxxxxxxxxx
