    Brenda
I guarantee the Dixie Midnight pad would help your horses back!
When a saddle pad gets wet from soaking up the sweat and wicking it away my
question is "where does the sweat go?"
It goes no where. You have a saddle on top of the wet blanket. Kind of like
putting a rain coat on over wet long johns. It holds the wet and heat right
onto the horses back where you are trying to cool.
If it was truly wicking it away and evaporating then the pad would remain
    dry.
I always use a Dixie when I ride and I get a nice even sweat mark, have a
dry pad (means I am not slapping a cold wet pad back onto the horses back
after it cools in the air ) .
The Dixie allows for air flow and evaporation under the saddle. It cools my
    horses back as I ride.
There is no substitute for this product. It is the best.
If anyone wants more info email me private and I will forward more info
    along to you.
