[RC] fraidy horse - Debra Ager

Unfortunately, these beasts we love are prey animals.  They know they should be afraid of lions, but darned if they've ever seen one--which means that ANYTHING could be a lion, unless and until it proves otherwise.  But there are some horses that spook less than others.  I have one good tall arab gelding that seems pretty fearless, but he will slow down to eye those cattle behind the bushes with suspicion--nevermind that he lives with cows!  How old is your horse?  Seems most of them don't grow their sense until they're around eight or so.  Unfortunately some never do.  I'm surprised though that your Walker is so spooky.  I always thought they were pretty steady.  But have faith, though.  There are brave horses out there--you just have to find them!  Good luck!
