I got totally tired of paying my farrier a zillion dollars every 6 weeks, so I contacted the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center to see if they could come up with a solution.  After 2 years of intensive research and development, I'm pleased to announce the Turbo Hoofalator.

This remarkable product eliminates every single concern about hoofs, shoeing, traction, angles, length, and padding.  Essentially, what we do is remove the entire hoof assembly and replace it with specially built Hoofalator - just like an artificial foot for humans, this is an artificial hoof, with all bio-mechanical functions self-contained within the natural looking hoof assembly.

All possible variations - hoof size, shape, length and angles are individually settable.  The surface in contact with the ground is a user-replaceable (with a screw driver) polymer, aluminum or steel insert.  Since there's no hoof wall, there's nothing to trim.

Granted, these are a bit pricey (I figure it'll take about 240 years to recover your investment), and your horse will have to go to the Stanford School of Biomedical Research for the "installation", but this is a very small price to pay for perfect, "never-trim" shoes.  Sure, there'll be an impact on farriers, but they've been complaining too much lately anyway.
