[RC] What I learned at Nationals - Cowgirgoof

    1. sleeping in the vet hospitality "house" can be a VERY noisy experience at
4:45 am on ride days (but we were nonetheless grateful for a great place to
    crash!)

    2. Dr. Jim Baldwin has a great (dry) sense of humor

    3. endurance riders are not fashion experts; especially when it comes to
having their "To Finish is to Win" photos taken!

    4. Darolyn Butler Dial DOES have a sense of fashion (especially when it comes
to having her "To Finish is to Win" photo taken!)

    5. after-affects of hurricanes CAN happen in eastern Kentucky (I live in
Florida, and just could not grasp that concept until it happened on Friday)

6.husband and wife team of fifteen years CAN work wife's small photo business
in close quarters for nine days

    7. DO NOT stop in Pigeon Forge, TN on your way to Nationals next year
(especially if you work at Disney World full time and are trying to get AWAY
    from tourist traps!)

    8. I still admire Brown R Timothy (winner of the 100, who has his own sense
of what's what, and bucked with Jan after seventy miles)

    9. Matt Frazier turned 28 on Friday, and his friend Jane got him a "boob"
cake and presented it in front of 150 people. (see photos later when I get
    them developed)

10.my poor friend Roxanne Ciccone took two qualified horses (one 50 miler,
and one 100 miler), and both were pulled about halfway each day, then turned
up totally sound an hour after trailering in . BUMMER

11.And mostly what I learned at NC? Endurance riders are damned TOUGH!
