RE: [RC] [RC] barefoot endurance - Whiteaker, Steve

    Lynn -

Despite your protestations, I remain skeptical of Henry Heymering's
    "objectivity".

I watched Henry interact with the Strasser crowd before the Tufts
conference. He played them with all the skill and grace of a concert
violinist. He was so good that at one point he almost had me believing his
"sincerity". His statement concerning the Strasser method had all the
sophistication and polish of a great political ad. He told the truth, but
not all of it; he made a comparison that while possibly accurate also
carried strong negative connotations; and he used subjective observations as
statements of fact. If Henry Heymering ever decides to run for public office
I predict that he will do well.

As to farrier = hoofcare specialist, well, that may on occasion be true. All
I know is that I am doing a far better job taking care of my horses feet
than 3 farriers I have tried.

    Steve,

As a personal longtime friend of Henry's, I can attest to his sincere
shot at objectivity about Strasser's method.

If you go with the Strasser or other barefoot method, you trim your
horse's feet *a whole lot more frequently* than every 6-8 weeks. If
you aren't certified yourself (or a very dedicated amateur), you are
going to employ somebody to do that trim for you. For LOTS MORE
MONEY since it's repeated so frequently.

Why wouldn't this be a hoofcare specialist (lower case deliberate)
like a farrier? I still have my farrier trim my horses when they are
    barefoot.

If the method worked, it would be just another revenue opportunity
    for farriers.
