[RC] [Guest] fees - Ridecamp Moderator

I agree with Barbara about the fees. Playing the game, regardless of the game usually requires membership in something.

Non members receive the same benefits as members at a ride, and can compete. You don't rodeo, show, etc in our area without a membership or a day fee. As far as not having the money, we all make choices in how to handle the resources we have. I to stayed at home with my children, and simply figured that was dues for being a mom. Since becomming involved with er, there have been several years I didn't ride very many miles for financial reasons, but still kept up my aerc dues. Horses are expensive, even if they are merely eating their heads off at home in the pasture, their only purpose pasture ornaments. Most of the time, I am a lurker, but having served on the aerc bod, as a ride manager, a class a arab show manager, officer of a local riding club, 4-H leader, and local trails council,I have some experience with the management of horse related activities so thought I would express my opinion. :) Also (note to Angie) I have a aluminum gooseneck trailer. I camped out of a combination cattle/horse trailer (washing out the cow poop is much nastier than horse) for 17 years, and the new rig while quite a bite was again a choice I made to give up lots of other things to have it. Darn those choices anyway. I will probably be teaching school forever to maintain my er habit.
