I have pictures cut from 'Architectural Digest' that would make you weep.

One of my personal favorites is a 'indoor arena' (covered arenas are just
too gauche) of whitewashed stone, with clearstory windows, and bubinga wood
exposed beams (for those of you not familiar with fine woods, bubinga is an
African hardwood used as accent on fine pieces of furniture and musical
instruments. A 'beam' of it boggles the mind as to cost.). I don't want to
know what they use to 'condition' their arena. Does BMW make a tractor? >>

A few years back (okay, a long damn time ago - I'm OLD) I was working as an
actor in Lexington, KY. OMG! Got to know some of the theater patrons who
were in the "horsey set" of old money. Went to some parties at some of the
nicest stables in Lexington - which are some of the nicest in the world.
HOLY $H!+! I would've happily lived in one of those stalls! We here in the
desert southwest with our sandy pipe corrals are missing out on the pure
luxury that the wealthier Kentuckian's equines enjoy. I still remember the
smell - no horse poop smell, just clean straw (changed about every two hours)
and cherry wood and cedar. And I distinctly remember the little individual
A/C units in each stall - no kidding! These were amazing barns, surrounded
by the most luxurious Kentucky bluegrass pastures where incredible horses
frolicked all day. As I look out right now at my pathetic 24x24 pipe corrals
and their little tin shade-covers, I feel bad for my horse! She deserves a
little "Ralph Lauren" luxury! Now granted, these were racehorses...so can
any of you endurance riders from the Kentucky area let us know how YOUR
    horses are kept?
