[RC] EZ Ride Stirrups Vs. Knockoffs - AprJhn

Just bought my husband an Abetta endurance saddle. He's not doing
endurance, but he comes riding with me sometimes. Anyway, I'm trying to
make riding as comfortable for him as possible. Part of that is that he
wants Side Step Safety Stirrups. I have a pair on my Abetta. Ugly color,
but he doesn't care.

So I have choices! I can give him my stirrups and buy others for me. I
was thinking about getting some EZ Ride stirrups with cages. Then I saw
some knock-offs for cheaper. Some are selling on ebay
(http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1860289568). And
there are some on sale at National Bridle Shop
(http://www.nationalbridle.com/prodDetail.asp?Catalog_ID=4285).

These don't have the cages, but I was thinking about trying them and if
I liked them, getting the safety cage kit (made for the EZ Rides) and
just putting the kit on the knock-offs.

So pros and cons or whatever of getting the knock-offs instead of the EZ
Ride Stirrups?

Thanks,
April
