 Linda, another good thing to have your equine 
dentist check is for teeth that are uncomfortable when bitted up.  
Sometimes they have woof teeth "not canine teeth" that bother when bitted 
up.  My horse has two "blind wolf teeth" that for some reason does not 
bother, even though the dentist cannot understand why.  I don't want to 
have them removed since it means major surgery to remove blind wolf teeth since 
they are imbeded into the bone under the skin.  Wolf teeth should be 
removed as soon as they are noticed or the turn  into wolf 
teeth.   Since my horse was already seven when I got him it was to 
late to do  a simple tooth extraction.    He has never 
fussed with the bit so I don't worry about it.     Just a
