[RC] yeah Cindy!! - Vicki Austin

Cindy, amen to that, my sentiments exactly!!!  My mom always said "If you can't say anything good,  don't say anything at all"   I think that is a good statement.  Poitics do not belong in a sport. Especially in a horse sport,  I have been involved in many an equine disipline and unfortunatly, you can't escape politics anywhere.  When I first got involved in longdistance I was impressed by the lack of politics and it was just plain fun!!!!     But as the years go by it seems more and more people have forgotton why we ride,    TO HAVE FUN.   If it upsets you that others may have fun as well then   QUIT.   If they have money so what??   I personally have never had much money, drive a 88 Bronco ( which has taken me to all the way to Old Dominion) and haul a 91 two horse trailer which we put up cots in the back of and sleep in.  I bet I have as much or more fun than those with expensive "toys".   However I would not belittle anyone because they have them.  Thats just the way things are.   Some may have more and some may have less, but we are all riders who are riding because ultimatly is is supposed to be fun, for us and our horses!!!!!!!!!
When it is no longer fun for me, I will not be out there anymore.  I quit a lot of differant disiplines because they were no longer fun.  This one is still my favorite.   Both CTRs and Endurance.   Although CTRs are a little more challenging, a lot more to think about and less time allowed to complete the course.     Vicki
