I have been riding in the same saddle on the same
horse for years, a little harder lately, trying to prepare for our first
ride. I use a 1" felt blanket. When I take off the saddle there are
dry spots, one on each side of the lower withers. These spots are now
getting white hairs in them.
Why do these hairs turn white and would more
padding/ a different pad help or do I need a different saddle?
