    [RC] Two horses die - Dolores Arste

    It is with great sadness that Jerez 2002 Organizing Committee and the
International Equestrian Federation (FEI) announce that two horses died
during the Endurance competition that took place on Monday 16th September in
Garrapilos.

Horse n. 158 SIR FIRE, ridden by Anna Maxenchs Serra (ESP), owned by José
Maxenchs Tenorio, 9 year old, bay, gelding, died after having completed the
course.

Horse n. 87 FLOYD, ridden by Nik Isahak Wan Abdullah (MAS), owned by Michele
Brac de la Perriere, 9 year old, bay, gelding, died on course during the
fourth loop. The horse went down and an ambulance reached the horse within
15 minutes.

Is this the first time horses have died at a world event?
